Laptops go everywhere with us, so they get dropped, spilled on and worn out in ways desktop computers never do.

• Batteries that won’t hold a charge, or a laptop that won’t charge at all

• Spills: turn the laptop off, unplug it and call us right away
• Overheating, loud fans and sudden shutdowns
• Slow start-up, often helped by a solid-state drive (SSD)
• Laptops that won’t turn on

Repair or replace?

Sometimes it’s a simple fix, like a new battery or charger, and if that’s all it is, we’ll tell you. If a repair would cost more than the laptop is worth, we’ll tell you that too, and help you move your files to a new one.
